Laity Sunday

Meet our Guest Preacher Zachary Holder:

My name is Zachary Holder, I was born and raised in Barbados, and over the years, God has allowed me to serve in a number of different spaces. I’ve served pastoral minister, youth and young adult ministry, community organizing, education, and leadership development.

I currently serve as the Program Director of Freedom School at The Mark in NJ, a partnership with the Children’s Defense Fund, where we work with young people and families to help them learn, lead, and thrive.

I’ve also had the privilege of serving in leadership within the United Methodist Church, including work with young adults, CDF and Next Gen Ministries based in NJ, as well as serving on boards focused on justice, advocacy, and community.

But underneath all of those titles and responsibilities is one thing that really drives me: I believe in people, and I especially believe in young people.
